Zidane on Manchester United’s radar

Manchester United are reportedly looking at Zinedine Zidane as a potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils are currently sixth in the Premier League table after a disappointing start to the campaign and the club hierarchy are already looking at potential alternatives.

Zidane is currently a free agent after leaving his post at Real Madrid and he could prove to be an inexpensive appointment for the Premier League club.

The Premier League giants would not have to pay any compensation to secure his services.

According to the Times, Zidane is unsure whether the opportunity to take over at Old Trafford is ideal for him but Manchester United are quietly confident that his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane would be enough to convince him.

Zidane has proven himself at Real Madrid by winning the league title and the Champions League title multiple times.  He would certainly be a massive upgrade on the Norwegian manager and he could help turn Manchester United’s form around.

Jesse Lingard up for sale in January

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are looking to cash in on midfielder Jesse Lingard when the transfer window reopens in January.

According to the Sun, the Red Devils are now prepared to sell the player for just £10 million after denying him a transfer to West Ham United back in summer.

Manchester United wanted £25 million for the player back then but the Hammers refused to pay over the odds for his services.

The player has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth since then and he needs to leave Manchester United in order to kick start his career.

It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can find a suitor for the player in January.

According to reports, the Red Devils are prepared to sell the 28-year-old to a top-four rival if they can get their asking price.

Lingard will have to join a club where he can play regularly if he wants to make the cut for next year’s World Cup and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

The 28-year-old was on loan at West Ham during the second half of last season and he was exceptional for the Londoners.

The player has a close relationship with the current West Ham manager David Moyes and it will be interesting to see if the Hammers reignite their interest in Lingard.
