Mesut Ozil could leave Arsenal this month, next MLS ?

Arsenal looking to part away with Mesut Ozil

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move away from the club and it seems that the 32 year old German midfielder could end up in the Major League Soccer.

Ozil was left out of Arsenal’s Premier League and European squad earlier this month and he is unlikely to play for the club again.

His contract with Arsenal expires at the end of this season and Ozil should look to leave in order to play regular first team football.

The German midfielder is no longer the world class player he used to be but he could still be very useful in the Major League Soccer.

A move to America would help the midfielder resurrect his career.

Apparently DC United are interested in the 32 year old and it will be interesting to see if they can get a deal done this month. Alternatively, a January move could also be on the cards if Ozil fails to secure a move away from Arsenal this summer.

The German midfielder’s condemnation of the mistreatment towards Uighur Muslims in China seems to have had a big impact on his future at Arsenal.

The London club have deep commercial ties with China and Ozil’s statements have not gone down too well with the club hierarchy.

It will be interesting to see whether midfielder ends up in the coming months.

He’s one of the highest earners at Arsena,l and the Gunners are apparently trying to get him off the book, to ease the burden on their wage bill.
