West Ham mount incredible comeback in a 3-3 draw against Tottenham

Manuel Lanzini-West Ham United

Tottenham were held to a 3-3 draw by West Ham United in the Premier League earlier today.

The home side took the lead in the first minute when Son Heung-Min converted from Harry Kane’s delightful pass.

Tottenham doubled their advantage seven minutes later and this time Son was the provider and Harry Kane found the net for the home side. Kane scored his brace eight minutes later to put the game beyond West Ham’s reach.

The Hammers struggled to contain Tottenham up until the 82nd minute when Fabian Balbuena scored for the away side.

It seemed like a consolation goal at the time but Tottenham were immediately put under pressure when Davinson Sanchez scored an own goal three minutes later.

Manuel Lanzini then scored a spectacular goal from outside the box deep into injury time to secure an astonishing point away from home for West Ham.

David Moyes will be absolutely delighted with his team’s comeback and it will be interesting to see if the Hammers can build on this and put together a winning run now.

As for Tottenham and Jose Mourinho, they will have to improve a lot in order to challenge for the title this season. They cannot afford to throw away leads against inferior opposition.

Mourinho will be devastated with his team’s defensive performance in the last ten minutes and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can bounce back with a positive result in their next game.
