Report reveals how Frank Lampard was let down by the Chelsea hierarchy

Frank Lampard-Chelsea

Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard earlier this month but a recent report shows that the former manager was not backed properly during the summer transfer window.

The Blues spent over 200 million pounds on new signings at the start of the season but most of those players were not on the manager’s shortlist.

Chelsea signed Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell In the summer but Lampard wanted different players to strengthen his side.

Apparently, the former Chelsea boss was looking to bring in Declan Rice, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and James Tarkowski.

The Chelsea hierarchy decided to turn down his wishes and signed the players the board wanted.

Lampard failed to get the best out of the players Chelsea signed and he was eventually sacked.

Although the Blues were struggling under his management, it was inevitable that Lampard would have been moved on inevitably.

It is evident that his  role was limited at the club and there was no sync between the manager and the management at Chelsea.

Chelsea have now brought in Thomas Tuchel to steady the ship and it will be interesting to see how the German fares as the club’s new manager.

He was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the season and he will have quite a challenge on his hands now.

Chelsea will be hoping to finish in the top four and the German will be asked to get the best out of their marquee signings Werner and Havertz.
