Six players Newcastle could look to sign after their takeover

Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic

A Saudi Arabia-financed consortium has completed the takeover of Premier League club Newcastle United for a fee of around £305 million earlier today.

The takeover takes the magpies to the top of the footballing rich list and the Premier League side could now look to flex their financial muscle in the transfer market.

Newcastle have the richest owners in world football and it is highly unlikely that the new owners will look to invest heavily into the playing squad.

Here at Anytime football, we look at six players the Premier League club should look to sign in the near future.

Luka Jovic

The 23-year-old Serbian striker has had a torrid time since his move to Real Madrid back in 2019 and he is currently out on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt in order to get regular game time and regain his sharpness.

Prior to his move to Spain, Jovic was regarded as one of the finest young strikers in Europe and Newcastle could use a goal scorer like him.

Jovic would get regular game time at the Premier League club and his hunger to succeed would be ideal for Newcastle.

Kalidou Koulibaly

The Senegalese defender is regarded as one of the finest centre backs across Europe and Newcastle could use his experience, quality and leadership skills at the back.

The magpies have been quite poor defensively this season and they will need to improve their defence immensely in order to climb up the table.

Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian has struggled to establish himself as a key player for Barcelona since his big money move from Liverpool and he was expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Coutinho played his best football in the Premier League with Liverpool and Newcastle could use a creative midfielder like him.

The 29-year-old is a top class player on his day and a return to England could help him regain his confidence and sharpness.

James Tarkowski

The Burnley defender is a solid Premier League defender and he could prove to be a quality addition to the Newcastle back four.

The 28 year old will be out of contract next summer and he could be signed for a bargain price during the January transfer window.

Dwight McNeil

The 21 year old English winger has been linked with a move away from Burnley for months now and he could prove to be a sensational long term acquisition for Newcastle.

The magpies have a quality winger in Allan Saint-Maximin but they need to bring in another wide player to add more quality, pace and flair to their attack.

McNeil is undoubtedly one of the most talented young wingers in the Premier League right now and he would improve the magpies immensely in the final third.

Dean Henderson

The Manchester United goalkeeper has been angling for a move away from Old Trafford due to the lack of playing time and he would be the ideal signing for Newcastle.

The likes of Woodman, Darlow and Gillespie are simply not good enough for a club hoping to finish in the top end of the Premier League and Henderson would be an upgrade on them.
