Solskjaer wants in-form Lingard back at Old Trafford
Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard has revived his form since moving to West Ham on loan, amassing a mind-boggling tally of 8 goals and three assists in just 9 Premier League appearances.
Hammers are said to be eyeing a permanent transfer for the English playmaker while clubs like Arsenal and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on him.
However, Man Utd gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the in-form midfielder back at Old Trafford next season.
“Jesse has been brilliant since he left.
“We could have kept him because he had a part to play. Never once caused me a problem and he deserved a chance to play more football.”
“Of course, we want him back. I hope he goes to the Euros.”
Raphael Varane stance
United are reportedly getting closer to the acquisition of Raphael Varane, who looks less likely to continue with Real Madrid beyond this summer.
Although the entire squad feels that Varane would seek an exit in the upcoming transfer window, Zinedine Zidane’s comments on his compatriot last year shows that he wouldn’t give the nod for his transfer.
Zidane said, “It’s not just me [who wants to keep him].
“He is part of this club, we were very lucky to be able to bring him to Madrid.
“He has a great career, he’s achieved a lot since he’s been here. Of course, he is untransferable for the club, for the coach that I am, for people in general.”
Paul Pogba’s presence can lure his World Cup winning teammate Varane to Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old would cost the Red Devils around £63m, which is quite a bargain fee given his quality and experience.
