Chelsea are desperate to improve their attacking options this summer after their big-money signing. Timo Werner failed to live up to the expectations this past season.

The German has missed several big chances this past season, and the Blues are looking for someone who is more clinical.

According to Eurosport, former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is a priority target for Thomas Tuchel, and club owner Roman Abramovich is personally driving the deal.

Lukaku has been exceptional for Inter Milan this past season, and he helped them win the league title after 11 years.

The Belgian forward has scored 30 goals in the Italian league, and he would be a sensational addition to the Chelsea attack.

Lukaku has played in the Premier League before with Chelsea, Everton, West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United. He should be able to adapt quickly and make an immediate impact at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Belgian struggled to hold down a regular starting berth during his previous spell at Chelsea, and he will feel that he has some unfinished business at the London club.

Thomas Tuchel has already helped Chelsea win the Champions League this past season, and he will be hoping to launch an assault on the Premier League next year.

The Blues have a quality squad at their disposal, and signing a world-class striker like Romelu Lukaku could improve them immensely and help them challenge the likes of Manchester City for the league title.

Ideally, Inter Milan would want to keep hold of the Belgian, but they are under financial duress, and a lucrative offer could tempt them to sell their star striker.

Apparently, Manchester City are keen on the player as well, and early indications from Lukaku’s camp suggest that they are offering higher wages than Chelsea.
