Tottenham Hotspur have sanctioned the departure of Serge Aurier.

Apparently, the Premier League side agreed on a mutual termination of his contract and the player is now free to join another club.

The 28-year-old Ivorian international joined Tottenham in 2017 from Paris Saint Germain.

Aurier has shown his quality with Tottenham but his consistency has been a major problem for the London club.

The Premier League side decided to sign Emerson Royal from Barcelona to improve their right-back position on deadline day and that has prompted them to terminate our horse contract and free up their wage bill.

As far as the player is concerned, he would have struggled for game time this season and his departure from Tottenham could prove to be a blessing in disguise for him.

The former Paris Saint Germain defender is undoubtedly a solid defender and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.

If he can sort out his consistency issues and his off the pitch antics, Aurier could prove to be a super bargain for most teams.

Speaking to the media after his departure, Aurier revealed: “I have really enjoyed my time at Spurs and would like to thank the Club and the fans, but I feel now is the right time for me to move onto a new challenge.”

The defender made 110 appearances for Tottenham before leaving the club and he scored eight goals for them during that period.
