Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo is already under the spotlight after three consecutive defeats from his side in the Premier League.

According to a report from Duncan Castles, the Premier League side are already looking at contingencies and they could bring in a replacement for the Portuguese manager if results do not improve soon.

The journalist further adds that Nuno is unhappy with his situation at the London club as well and things have not gone according to plan for him.

Therefore there is discontent between both parties and parting of ways in the near future could be an option.

“The information I have is that Tottenham are already considering replacements for Nuno and also that this isn’t necessarily a unilateral process in that Nuno, I’m told’ also isn’t happy with his circumstances at Tottenham, it’s not what he expected when he came into the club, so there is discontent on both sides there. I think a lot of this is predictable,” Castles said in his Transfer Window Podcast.

It will be interesting to see who Tottenham bring in to replace the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager.

The London club were heavily linked with Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca during the summer transfer window but the former Inter Milan manager refused to join them because of the lack of transfer assurances and short term ambitions.

As far as Fonseca is considered, Fabio Paratici apparently pulled the plug on the deal because he wanted a manager with a defensive style of play.

Tottenham made an impressive start to the season with three consecutive league wins and nobody would have expected them to be in this situation after just six games into the Premier League campaign.

However, the reality is that the Londoners spent heavily during the summer transfer window and it is time for the manager to deliver the goods.

Tottenham should be playing in the Champions league regularly given their stature in English football and yet they find themselves struggling in the Europa League.

Nuno has proven his quality as a manager at wolves in the past and it will be interesting to see if he can turn things around at his new club in the coming weeks.
