Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed the Lyon defender Marcal on a 2 year contract.
The Premier League side needed to improve their defensive options this summer especially after the injury to Jonny. Wolves have also sold Matt Doherty to Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if they manage to bring in a quality right back as well.
Marcal has done well for the French club and he could prove to be a very useful option for Nuno next season.
According to reports, Wolverhampton Wanderers will pay a fee of around £1.78 million for the 31 year old defender.
It will be interesting to see if the Brazilian manages to adapt to English football quickly.
If he makes an instant impact for Wolves, he could prove to be a real bargain for the Premier League side next season.
WolverhamptonWanderers need to improve their defensive performances next season if they want to qualify for the Champions League and signing quality defenders like Marcal will only help them achieve their goals.
The clubs executive chairman Jeff she said: “Having played over 280 games in top leagues, as well as Champions League football, Marçal will add a huge amount of experience to our young team. He is a player with the technical ability to be able to contribute in the build-up play from the back, all the way through to threatening the opposition in the final phase.”
