AC Milan

AC Milan will look to get back to winning ways in the league when their welcome Juventus to the San Siro this Sunday.

The hosts blew their chance of going top of the table ahead of Inter Milan last Monday when they lost 2-1 to lowly Spezia in their last league outing.

After playing 1-1 for much of the game, the hosts conceded a 96th-minute winner to lose 2-1, just minutes after having their own injury-time winning goal chalked off because of a referee error.

Although the referee who is reportedly now facing a lengthy ban apologised for his mistake directly after the game, it changes nothing as Milan will come into this round in second place, two points behind their city rivals and league leaders Inter.

They will know that this is a must-win game for them to avoid falling further behind Inter.

With two wins (D1, L1) from their last four meetings with Juve, AC Milan will fancy their chances of winning this game.

Possible AC Milan starting line-ups

Mike Maignan; Alessandro Florenzi, Pierre Kalulu, Matteo Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Rare Krunic, Tiemoue Bakayoko; Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Injured: Alessio Romagnoli, Pietro Pellegri, Fikayo Tomori and Simon Kjaer

Unavailable (AFCON): Ismael Bennacer, Fode Ballo-Toure and Franck Kessie

Juventus

Juventus booked their place in the next round of the Coppa Italia when they beat Sampdoria 4-1 on Wednesday. Juan Cuadrado opened the scoring for the Old Lady before Daniele Rugani, Paulo Dybala and Álvaro Morata all scored to seal the win.

The win was Juve’s third in their last five games and was also the second time they were scoring four times in their last five games.

In the league, their last outing was a 2-0 win over Udinese that was secured through goals from Paulo Dybala and Weston McKennie. The win means that Juventus come into this round of games sitting in fifth, just one point behind Atalanta in fourth.

Max Allegri’s side have been consistent since December and have won six of their last eight Serie A games, leaving them trailing Inter by just nine points ahead of this round of games.

With a win in this game, they could climb into the top four places, assuming Atalanta drop points.
