AS Roma

For the third time this season, As Roma failed to beat Norwegian minnows Bodø/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League Conference League.

Last Thursday, Jose Mourinho’s side were beaten 2-1 by the Norwegian side who had condemned the Romans to a 6-1 loss in the group stages of the tournament.

And so AS Roma will come into this tie with a bitter taste in their mouth and with a desire to quickly get back to winning ways.

In the league, they extended their unbeaten run to ten games last time out when they defeated Sampdoria 1-0 thanks to a goal by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, off their only shot on target. The win reduced the gap between them and fourth-placed Juventus to five points, giving Mourinho’s side the hope that they can finish in the top four places if they stay consistent.

With ‘La Lupa’ winning nine of their 12 home league games against sides that started this round below them, keeping eight clean sheets across those dozen clashes, they will fancy their chances of getting another win in this game.

Possible Roma starting line-up

Rui Patricio; Gianluca Mancini, Roger Ibanez, Chris Smalling; Rick Karsdorp, Sergio Oliveira, Bryan Cristante, Nicola Zalewski; Nicolo Zaniolo, Henrikh Mkhitaryan; Tammy Abraham.

Injured: Leonardo Spinazzola

Doubtful: J. Veretout

Suspended: Lorenzo Pellegrini

Salernitana

Salernitana’s woeful run of form continued over the weekend as they were condemned to a 1-0 loss to Salernitana.

In a one-sided game in Salerno, a penalty goal by Torino captain Andrea Belotti condemned Salernitana to their 19th loss of the season, while extending their winless run in the league to ten games.

They come into this tie sitting at the foot of the table and with almost no chance of survival given their point tally and their terrible goal difference.

With just nine games left to play, the visitors find themselves six points behind Genoa. And so Salernitana may have their minds already set on playing in the lower divisions next season and will only try to win as many points as possible to avoid breaking the wrong records on their way to relegation.

Possible Salernitana starting line-up

Luigi Sepe; Norbert Gyömbér, Ivan Radovanovic Luca Ranieri; Pasquale Mazzocchi, Lassana Coulibaly, Ederson Jose, Emi Bohinen, Matteo Ruggeri; Milan Duric, Mikael.

Injured: Federico Fazio, Grigoris Kastanos,

Doubtful: Leonardo Capezzi, Diego Perotti, Vincenzo Fiorillo

Suspended: None
