Fiorentina

Fiorentina will look to win just their third game of the Serie A season when they welcome Inter Milan to Stadio Artemio Franchi this weekend.

After a strong finish to last season that saw them qualify for the Europa Conference League this season, the hosts have begun the season in poor form. So far, they have won just two league games (D4, L4) and so enter this round of games sitting in 13th place having gathered ten points in ten games.

That ten-point haul is five points less than they had by this time last season after ten matches, showing how far they have fallen this season. The issue with their league form perhaps has been their involvement in Europe.

However, La Viola have enjoyed their European adventure this season, winning three of their opening six Conference League games (D2, L1). They could seal their place in the next round of the competition when they meet Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir next Thursday.

But for now, they will hope to turn around their league form which is threatening to spoil whatever gains they are making in Europe this season.

Possible Fiorentina starting line-up

Pietro Terracciano; Dodo, Igor, Nikola Milenkovic, Cristiano Biraghi; Rolando Mandragora, Giacomo Bonaventura, Antonin Barak; Nicolas Gonzalez, Christian Kouame, Luka Jovic.

Injured: Riccardo Sottil

Doubtful: Gaetano Castrovilli

Suspended: None

Inter Milan

Inter Milan continued their resurgence after an early season wobble with another positive display at the weekend.

The title hopefuls endured a poor run of form last month as they lost four times in six games. But since beating Barcelona 1-0 at San Siro in early October, they have enjoyed positive results, winning two of their league games since then.

The most recent of these wins came last weekend against Salernitana. Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Nicolo Barella gave them all three points and kept their hopes for the title alive.

The San Siro side come into this tie sitting in seventh place, eight points behind Napoli who are top of the league.

With just ten rounds of games played, they will feel they can still catch up with the leaders. However, their ability to do that will be dependent on how quickly they can sort out their defence which has kept just three clean sheets at home in the league this season.

Possible Inter Milan starting line-up

Andre Onana; Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Federico Dimarco; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.

Injured: Marcelo Brozovic

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
