Fiorentina

Fiorentina will be looking to make five wins in a row in all competitions when they play host to Sportiva Salernitana at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

La Viola come into this game off the back of a 0-2 win over Sampdoria last weekend, with goals from Giacomo Bonaventura and Nikola Milenkovic either side of the half, granting the home side their second straight win in the Italian topflight.

The win was their fourth win in all competitions, following two wins in the Europa Conference League in between those league wins. That result against Sampdoria saw the hosts record their first Serie A clean sheet since September.

And so, they come into this tie with the odds in their favour, despite conceding eight goals across their last two home league games.

Both defeats came against opposition expected to challenge for Champions League qualification this term though, with the mid-table Fiorentina unbeaten at home in Serie A before those losses (W2, D2). Both victories form part of an impressive 100% return from La Viola’s last 11 Serie A home games led at half-time though, meaning the Stadio Artemio Franchi faithful will want a quick and positive start.

Possible Fiorentina starting line-up

Pietro Terracciano; Dodo, Nikola Milenkovic, Igor, Cristiano Biraghi; Giacomo Bonaventura, Sofyan Amrabat, Rolando Mandragora; Jonathan Ikoné, Luka Jović, Christian Kouamé.

Injured: Riccardo Sottil, Gaetano Castrovilli

Doubtful: None

Salernitana

Salernitana have continued their fight to maintain their top-flight status beyond this season remarkably, with a series of positive results in their first 13 games of the season.

The visitors stunned Lazio with three second-half goals after trailing at the interval in their previous away game to win 3-1 in Gameweek 12. But they followed that win up with a disappointing 2-2 draw against relegation candidates Cremonese, despite leading 2-1 up till the 89th minute.

However, the result made it four games without a defeat for Davide Nicola’s side who have garnered 17 points from their opening 13 games, to sit in ninth position, eleven points ahead of the relegation zone.

That could provide a huge psychological boost in the long term for a team who struggled to climb above the red line for much of last season. They will now travel to Florence looking to end a 100% historic losing record away to Fiorentina (L6).

Possible Salernitana starting line-up

Luigi Sepe; Dylan Bronn, Lorenzo Pirola, Federico Fazio; Pasquale Mazzocchi, Lassana Coulibaly, Ivan Radovanovic, Antonio Candreva, Domagoj Bradaric; Krzysztof Piatek, Federico Bonazzoli.

Injured: Matteo Lovato, Norbert Gyomber

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
