Moise Kean made a sensational return to his boyhood club Juventus earlier this summer in a predictable transfer move. Having spent the last season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain, Kean’s impressive outings compelled the Old Lady to initiate a last-minute loan deal with Everton, for their academy graduate.

Juventus’ acquisition of Kean on a season-long loan, without any obligation to make the move permanent, coincided with the departure of their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old legend of the game decided to part ways with his club of three years after failing to make strides with Juventus in the Champions League.

As a result, Kean is seen to be a direct replacement for the Manchester United-bound Ronaldo. Reflecting on this development, the talented 21-year-old stated in an interview,

“I don’t feel any pressure in replacing Cristiano Ronaldo. I just want to lend a hand to the team where I grew up and where I lived good times. I just want to play. I have no pressure. I just feel the responsibility of wearing the Juventus shirt.”

Kean has the monumental task of filling in Cristiano Ronaldo’s colossal boots at Juventus, as well as cementing his place in the first team alongside Alvaro Morata or Paulo Dybala in the Serie A giants. Having failed to find his footing at Goodison Park, Kean has been given a rare second chance by the Bianconeri to prove his worth to the world.

Juventus kicked off their post-Ronaldo era with a disappointing defeat to Napoli. In a high stake league match, the 36-time Italian champions will face a resurgent AC Milan side on September 19th.
