Chiesa’s stunning goal was cancelled out by Freuler’s second-half strike

Juventus have been held to 1-1 by a strong Atalanta side while Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty.

It took a belter of a goal from Juve youngster Federico Chiesa to give his side the lead, thus registering his first goal for the Old Lady in Serie A.

The visitors responded with a couple of good shots at the target but Szczesny was equally up to the task.

However, Atalanta found the equaliser just before the half-hour mark when Remo Freuler founds the nets in a similar fashion to Juve’s first goal.

The Bianconeri had two good chances to follow with, firstly Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty and Alvaro Morata had his goal denied by Atalanta keeper Pierluigi Gollini.

If it weren’t for their complacent attack, Juve would have grabbed the game.

Both the goalkeepers were the saviours for their respective sides, with both of them producing a spellbinding display.

Atalanta would be happy to gain a draw while the Old Lady continue to drop points, with the pressure increasing in on Andrea Pirlo.

Juventus are currently third in the Scudetto race trailing Inter Milan by three points.

Pirlo also offered his thoughts on the draw.

We played against a strong team, with great rhythm, but on that floor we played on par with them, “

On Sunday we conceded a goal from the only shot we had against. It’s not about goals, it’s about how we face the games. We had many chances to take the lead, we are improving, this game was important in terms of intensity.”
