Juventus sign former Tottenham target Gleison Bremer from Torino for £45m

Juventus- Allianz Stadium

Serie A heavyweights Juventus have confirmed the signing of Gleison Bremer, from city rivals Torino for a fee worth about £45million.

The Old Lady announced the signing on Wednesday, having beat off competition from Tottenham and Inter Milan, who were also interested in the 25-year-old.

The Brazilian had an impressive campaign in the Serie A last season and was one of the standout performers in Italy that season. He had been attracting notable interest during the summer transfer window but have now sealed the move to Allianz Stadium, where he will be a replacement for the departed Matthijs de Ligt and Giorgio Chiellini.

Both players departed Juve this summer, but it was the sale of De Ligt which has boosted the purse of Juventus. And so, they were able to outbid their rivals and bring the Bremer to Turin.

According to reports, the Old Lady will pay an initial fee of £34.9million for the defender, rising to £45million in possible add-ons.

Bremer has signed a five-year contract that will see him earn around £4.3million per season, working at roughly £82k a week.

The Brazilian comes in with a wealth of Serie A experience, having signed for Torino in 2018 and played 110 games for the club during his four-year spell.
