Lazio 1-1 Juventus: Caicedo’s injury-time equaliser earns Lazio a hard-fought draw

Lazio have produced a dramatic 1-1 draw against Juventus, with Felipe Caicedo chipping in with a goal in injury time.

Juve drew the first blood after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a tap-in goal after the cross from Juan Cuadrado.

However, Lazio dominated the possession and even came close to equalising when Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s header flew inches away from fellow striker Vedat Muriqi’s feet.

The Old Lady, at the other end, often caught the hosts in transition and unfortunately Ronaldo hit the crossbar once while also forcing a save from Pepe Reina at the stroke of the half-time.

The second half also saw Juventus cede possession to Lazio and tried to capitalise on the counter-attacks. Simone Inzaghi’s side somehow managed to halt a couple of dangerous-looking attacks from Juve.

But still, Lazio struggled to break down the Bianconeri’s defence, with the skipper Leanardo Bonucci making some vital interceptions.

With the game entering the stoppage time and Juve looked as they were heading for a draw, Lazio had other plans as Felipe Caicedo scored a brilliant equaliser, beating both Bonucci and Szczesny in the process.

It is the second time Caicedo has scored an injury-time goal for Lazio, having done previously against Torino in the 4-3 win.

Elsewhere, Andrea Pirlo’s hopes for a second straight win have been denied by the Biancocelesti, who completely deserved the draw.
