Lazio remain confident of signing David Silva

The Manchester City ace is set to become a free agent after Champions League campaign.

Lazio are reportedly confident of striking a deal with David Silva, who will leave the Etihad after the Champions League campaign.

The Spaniard is undecided on his new destination, with his former club Valencia and MLS side New York City being linked with him.

However, Lazio reportedly have the edge given that they will play in the Champions League next season.

Recent reports also add that the Serie A outfit have offered Silva a salary worth £52,000 a week, a luxury house and a private plane to lure him to Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio have concluded the season, finishing fourth in the league table. Simeone Inzaghi’s side are looking in good spirits after securing the Champions League qualification in a decade.

Meanwhile, Silva will look to finish the campaign on a high note, getting his hands at the Champions League glory – which he hasn’t won in his entire career.

The 34-year-old will be expected to play a key role in City’s UCL clash against  Real Madrid on Friday.

Silva, who has won numerous accolades with both Man City and Spain national team, has been labelled irreplaceable by manager Pep Guardiola.

Lazio would benefit big time if they can sign a player like Silva, whose presence could push them in the Serie A title race as well as in the UCL.
