Parma 0-2 Lazio: second-half goals from Alberto, Caicedo hand Lazio a comfortable win

Luis Alberto-Lazio

Lazio produced a comprehensive win against Parma away.

Luis Alberto shone in Lazio‘s 2-0 win against Parma away as Le Aquile continued their momentum from last week’s win against Fiorentina.

After a goalless first half, the home side opted to sit deep and tried to punish Lazio on the counter.

It allowed Lazio to enjoy more possession and create numerous chances, sooner allowing Luis Alberto to score the opener before Felipe Caicedo doubled the lead in the 67th minute.

Alberto has grown into a key cog in Simone Inzaghi’s midfield in the last few games as he has found the nets three times in the last five games in Serie A.

The 28-year-old put another standout display against Parma, thus ensuring three points for Lazio.

Not to mention, Caicedo’s importance to the Biancocelesti after racking up 6 goals so far this season including some late winners.

Lazio have been quite disappointing this season however this win could give them enough morale to push for the Champions League spot for the second consecutive season, while they are currently eighth in the table.

Inzaghi also looks happy with the result as he stated that his side deserved to win the game.

“We had the right approach to the game, I think we only ran one risk in the first half, but otherwise fully deserved to win. In fact, we should’ve opened the scoring earlier.

“It’s a win that can help boost our confidence and self-esteem.”
