Jamal Musiala destined to replace Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich and for his country

Jamal Musiala-Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich youngster Jamal Musiala recently became the youngest player to score six goals in the Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old has been outstanding for the German outfit since his signing in 2019, and he is destined to replace Thomas Muller at the club and at the international level in future.

The youngster recently signed a lucrative five-year contract with the German club, and his performances have caught the attention this season.

Recently the club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic claimed that the German club are now focused on the youngster’s development.

The attacking midfielder is currently valued at around $26.4 million on the Transfermarkt website, but he’s worth a lot more in reality. Apart from his talent, Musiala’s mental fortitude has been remarkable so far this season.

The maturity of his decisions and the understanding of time and space is almost Muller-esque.

Furthermore, Musiala has several similarities in his game when compared to Thomas Muller.

Although the experienced German star has outperformed him this season, the statistics behind Musiala’s season are pretty encouraging.

As per reports, Musiala wins more defensive duels (63.04% to 50.82%) and has more opponent half recoveries (3.82 to 2.18) compared to the Bayern star. The youngster also has more interceptions (6.42 to 3.98) and plays more accurate passes (86.48% to 77.33%) compared to Muller.

Muller is way ahead in terms of goals/assists or chance creation – passes to the penalty area per 90 minutes (5.23 to 1.39) and key passes (1.22 to 0.21). However, it has to be noted that the youngster has not been a regular starter for Bayern Munich as compared to Muller. Therefore his statistics are likely to be dwarfed by that of the German international.
