Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa could return to football after seven months of being without a club.

According to reports, the Spanish international has been offered a contract by Turkish Super Lig outfit Besiktas worth in the region of £50,000 a week.

The 32-year-old striker is now considering the transfer offer.

Costa had his contract terminated with Atletico Madrid back in December 2020 after falling down the pecking order at the Spanish club.

Atletico Madrid signed Luis Suarez from Barcelona and brought Moussa Dembele on loan to improve their attacking options.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish international is willing to accept the offer from the Turkish outfit and return to football this upcoming season.

The 32-year-old is in his twilight years, and a move to Turkey could be ideal for him right now.

Costa has proven himself in the Spanish La Liga and the Premier League over the years, and he certainly can succeed in the Turkish league.

The two-year contract on the table seems quite reasonable as well, and Besiktas are currently waiting to hear from the striker.

Costa still has a lot to offer at the highest level, and he must look to sort out his future soon.

The former Atletico Madrid striker is a fierce competitor on the pitch. His mentality, drive and aggression could prove to be invaluable for Besiktas if they manage to snap him up on a free transfer.
