Barcelona

Barcelona will look to get back to winning ways in the UCL when they take on Inter Milan at the Spotify Camp Nou for the return Leg of their Champions League clash.

The Blaugrana fell to a 1-0 defeat to the Italians in the first leg in Italy, with a Hakan Çalhanoğlu wonder strike the only goal separating the two sides after 90 minutes.

The loss to the Italian side was their second defeat in a row in the Champions League this season, and head coach Xavi Hernandez was left fuming with the match officials for disallowing the goal by Pedri González to bring Barca level and denying Barcelona a late penalty after Denzel Dumfries handled the ball inside the penalty box.

The Spanish coach will now hope to see his side exact revenge on Inter Milan by securing all three points against the Italians at home.

Barcelona come into this game off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga last Sunday, with Pedri getting the only goal of the night. The Catalans remain unbeaten in the Spanish top flight, but a contrasting form in the Champions League has left them in an all too familiar spot, three points away from knock-out qualification places.

The Spanish giants dropped out of the Champions League Group stages last season, and are on the verge of yet another historical catastrophe, and the game against Inter Milan is a must-win for the Blaugrana if they are to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

Possible Barcelona starting line-up

Marc Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Gerard Pique, Eric Garcia, Marcos Alonso; Sergio Busquets, Pedri, Gavi; Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele.

Injured: Hector Bellerin, Ronald Araujo, Memphis Depay, Jules Kounde

Doubtful: Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie

Suspended: None

Inter Milan

Inter Milan will travel to Spain with the task of finishing the job they started last week.

The Nerazzurri put in a defensive masterclass to deny Barcelona time and again and crested more than ample opportunities to score too.

Head coach Simone Inzaghi was pleased with his team’s performance last week and will hope for a repeat of the same when they travel to the Spotify Camp Nou. But he knows his side face a bigger test as they come up against a qualification-chasing Barcelona side backed by raucous home fans.

Inter Milan continued their march up the Serie A table last weekend with a 1-2 win over Sassuolo. A brace from Bosnian marksman Edin Dzeko handed the Nerazzurri all three points and saw them move into seventh place in the Serie A standings.

A win in this game will almost guarantee them a place in the next round given that Barcelona will still face group favourites Bayern Munich

Possible Inter Milan starting line-up

Andre Onana; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, Hakan Calhanoglu, Federico Dimarco; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.
