Jamaica

Jamaica will welcome USA to Kingston in their World Cup 2022 CONCACAF Qualifying clash looking to take all three points.

Theodore Whitmore come into this tie on the back of a 1-1 draw with El Salvador in their game last Friday. West Ham United’s Michail Antonio opened the scoring for Jamaica late in the game after coming on from the bench just eight minutes from time. But a 90th-minute equaliser from El Salvador’s Alex Roldan cancelled out Antonio’s goal and ensured that Jamaica’s wait for a second win in the WCQ goes on.

The Reggae Boyz have only ever participated in the 1998 World Cup before, and are desperate to qualify for this one.

However, their hopes of reaching the tournament in Qatar look slim as they are currently sitting in 6th place in the CONCACAF table, five points behind Panama who are occupying the playoff qualification spot.

USA

United States took control of their CONCACAF qualifier group when they beat their arch-rivals Mexico 2-0 in Cincinnati on Friday.

The win was not only a crucial three points in their hunt for an expected qualification for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar, but was also a morale booster ahead of the remaining qualifiers.

Victory over Jamaica on Tuesday will keep Berhalter’s side top of the table and ensure that they go into next year top of the table.

Meanwhile, Miles Robinson will not be available for this tie as he is suspended after being sent off for two bookable offences against Mexico. Weston McKennie is also suspended for accumulating too many yellow cards.

Possible USA starting line-ups

Matt Turner (GK); Antonee Robinson, Chris Richards, Walker Zimmerman, Joe Scally; Brenden Aaronson, Tyler Adams, Yunus Musah; Timothy Weah, Ricardo Pepi, Christian Pulisic.

Prediction

Jamaica 1-4 USA
