A brace from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino along with a goal from Sadio Mane wrapped up the three points for the Reds earlier tonight.

Here at Anytime football, we look at the three major talking points from tonight’s contest.

Roberto Firmino back amongst goals

The Brazilian striker has struggled to showcase his peak form over the past year but he has had an impressive start to the season.

Firmino has started just one game in the Premier League. The rest of his appearances have come as substitutes in the league as well as the Champions League.

However, the striker has managed to score three goals already this season.

The Brazilian is an exceptional footballer when he is in form and the Liverpool fans will be excited to see him getting back to his best after a rough patch.

Curtis Jones steps up once again

When the season started, the only youngster making headlines at Liverpool was Harvey Elliott.

Since then, the talented youngster has been sidelined with a long term ankle injury and Curtis Jones has stepped up in his absence.

The Liverpool Academy graduate scored a stunner against Brentford at the weekend and he has followed it up with another quality performance tonight.

Jones was undoubtedly the best player on the pitch he produced two assists against Porto over the course of the game.

Dreadful night for Diogo Costa

The Porto goalkeeper had a game to forget.

The 22-year-old is highly rated at the club but he produced a dreadful performance and he was directly responsible for two goals on the night.

Costa will undoubtedly improve after this experience but he let his team down tonight.
