Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho is a man in demand this summer.

According to reports, five Premier League clubs are chasing the former Liverpool star.

Coutinho has failed to establish himself as a first team star at Camp Nou since his big money move to La Liga.

He is currently on loan at Bayern Munich but the German giants are not keen on signing him permanently. The playmaker is expected to be on the market once again this summer.

Coutinho is valued at around £90m. However, it is extremely unlikely that any of his suitors will pay that kind of money for someone who hasn’t been at his best for more than a year now.

Coutinho needs a fresh start and a return to his comfort zone would be ideal. He played the best football of his career in the Premier League and a return to England could help him rediscover his form.

Apparently, Newcastle, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester City are keen on the player.

Manchester United and Chelsea can certainly afford to spend big on him but it seems unlikely in this market. Clubs are facing huge losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic and they might not be keen on marquee signings this summer.

As for Newcastle, they might be able to afford him once the takeover goes through. Their new owners are expected to fund exciting transfers this summer.

Coutinho has been linked with a return to Liverpool in the recent months as well but that seems nearly impossible.

Liverpool do not need someone like him anymore and the way the Brazilian left the club will have angered Klopp and the fans.

Coutinho refused to play in certain games and forced the Reds to sell him halfway through the season.

It is highly unlikely that the fans will accept him back at Anfield anytime soon.
