Perth Glory have edged out Adelaide United in an eight-goal thriller.

Perth Glory have defeated Adelaide United 5-3 in an exciting A-League thriller.

Kilkenny put Glory ahead from the penalty spot after Deliano’s foul on striker Fornaroli. Not long after Nicholas D’Agostino doubled the lead with a scrappy goal.

The visitors pulled one before the halftime when Konstandopulos made a meal of Perth’s defensive error, thus giving his side a much-needed momentum.

However, it was Perth who started the Second half on a high-note with Fornaroli’s strike, which was set up by Andy Keogh.

D’Agostine completed his double with a powerful strike before Armiento almost put the game to bed by scoring the fifth goal for the hosts.

United showed some intentions after scoring back to back goals right at the end through substitute Mohamed Toure and Halloran but it proved too late for them as it only meant as consolation goals.

Adelaide, who were victorious against Melbourne City FC, failed to maintain their winning run.

Meanwhile, Perth are off to a dream start by an emphatic win in their opening game of this season.

D’Agostino has been adjudged the player of the match for his exquisite display, which resulted in a brace. The 22-year-old looks like he is all set for a productive season after showing enough promise during the latter stage of the last season.

Meanwhile, Adelaide United would be regretting allowing Perth to gain an unassailable lead as their late goals went in vain.

Perth will take on Western United this weekend and look to build on from today’s win. Adelaide await Melbourne Victory in their next fixture.
