Western United

Western United will look to keep their place at the top of the Australian League table alive when they welcome Sydney FC to Melbourne this Wednesday night.

The hosts are currently in competition for the top spot with defending champions Melbourne City and are coming into this round with one point separating them and the champions.

Meanwhile, they also come into this tie on the back of a 3-2 win over Western Sydney Wanderers. The win was secured courtesy of goals from Aleksander Prijovic and Benjamin Garuccio. WS Wanderers scored via Tomer Hemed and Steven Ugarkovic, but their goals were only consolations.

As a result, John Aloisi’s side are entering this game unbeaten in their last five games and will fancy their chances of extending that unbeaten run further.

Sydney FC

Meanwhile, Sydney FC will look to pick up their first win in three games when they visit AAMI Park on Wednesday.

The visitors were held to a second 1-1 draw in as many games on Saturday as they drew with Wellington Phoenix.

The result keeps them in fourth place, five points behind their hosts, but level on points with seventh-placed Wellington Phoenix.

They come into this game unbeaten in their last five league games and will fancy their chances of getting a good result here.
