NorthEast 2-4 Hyderabad: Late double from Colaco wins the match for Hyderabad

Hyderabad FC  continues their winning streak as they pull out yet another stunner. The Nizams defeated NorthEast United with a scoreline of 4-2 at the 51st match of the Indian Super League today at Tilak Maidan.

With this win, The Nizams moved to the third spot surpassing the Gaurs as they now have 15 points from 10 matches. The NorthEast remains at the seventh spot, as they have 11 points only from the same number of matches.

The match started with a bang with Hyderabad FC eager to draw the first blood. In the 3rd minute, Joel Chianese let fly a low cross from the right flank. Aridane Santana made no mistake and pushed the ball in the goal to provide an early lead to his team.

The Highlanders soon got their share of chances at the 13th minute. An excellent free-kick from Federico Gallego created a golden opportunity to level the score, only to be missed by Idrissa Sylla.

Until the 20th minute, both teams were evenly placed with the number of created opportunities as each had only one shot at the target. It followed by a flurry of attacks from NorthEast.

Laxmikant Kattimani became the saviour for the Nizams multiple times. One of the most special was when VP Suhair laid off a ball perfectly for Sylla at the 29th minutes, but the powerful shot from Sylla was blocked by Kattimani.

At 36th minute mark, Nizams doubled their lead. A beautiful dribble from Joel Chianese into the box ended when the ball found itself at the upright corner.

The highlander scores their first goal at the 45th minute as they came back to the game. Asutosh Mishra ran into the box from the right flank, to be fouled by Halicharan Narzary. In the penalty, Gallego found the centre of the net perfectly.

In quick succession, NorthEast United scored their second goal too. After two attempts from Gallego & Sylla, Benjamin Lambot finally managed to find the net. The teams went to half-time with a 2-2 scoreline.

After the play resumed, the highlanders managed a narrow escape at the 50th minute.  Adriane Santana tried but missed from the free-kick of Lluis Sastre. Both Gallego and Luís Machado was on fire and Kattimani has to a great job out there to not concede any more goals.

Hyderabad FC got the lead again in the 88th minute. Liston Colaco came as a replacement and made an astonishing shot to the top left corner of the bar to ensure a goal

The Nizam put the final nail at the added time. It was Liston again, who made good work of a pass from Santana to make the score 4-2 for the Nizams.

Hyderabad FC will be in a good place with the win then they are going to face the present league leader, Mumbai City FC next on 16th January. NorthEast will try to get back to winning habits in their match against Bengaluru FC on 12th January.
