Jamshedpur 2-1 ATK Mohun Bagan: Valskis scored twice to pull off an upset

Roy Krishna-ATK Mohun Bagan

Jamshedpur FC picked up a 2-1 win over ATK Mohun Bagan in the Indian Super League earlier today.

Nerijus Valskis gave Jamshedpur FC the lead on the 30th minute and then doubled his team’s advantage in the second half on the 66th minute.

The home side were completely dominant and Mohun Bagan struggled to break through them for most of the game.

However, the away side were given a glimmer of hope when Roy Krishna scored a goal on the 80th minute but it was too little too late and Jamshedpur managed to defend their advantage and grind out all three points in the end.

Mohun Bagan had the chance to climb to the top of the Indian Super League standings with the win today and they will be thoroughly disappointed with their performance.

They have picked up nine points from four matches and are level on points with Mumbai City FC at the top of the table.

This is the first defeat of the season for Antonio Habas’s side and they will be desperate to bounce back with a win in their next match.

Meanwhile, tonight’s win takes Jamshedpur FC up to 7th in the table with five points from four matches.

Mohun Bagan were firm favourites heading into the game and the fans would have expected them to pick up all three points. It remains to be seen if the players can step up and produce a proper reaction in the next game.
