Lille

Paulo Fonseca will look to get a morale-boosting win against PSG when he welcomes the reigning champions to Villeneuve d’Ascq on Sunday.

The Portuguese coach who previously won trophies in Ukraine & Portugal, and has made a solid start to life in France, taking four points from his opening two games.

His first match in charge was a 4-1 win over Auxerre followed by a 1-1 draw in their last game against Nantes. After trailing for over 45 minutes in the game, it was one of Fonseca’s former Shakhtar Donetsk players, Ismaily, who gained a point for Lille with a debut goal from the bench.

And so the hosts will come into this tie looking to maintain and extend their unbeaten run a game further. However, beating PSG is a tough task, given that they have won just two times against the record champions in the last 20 league meetings between both teams.

Possible Lille starting line-up

Léo Jardim; Akim Zedadka, Jose Fonte, Alexsandro Ribeiro, Ismaily; Benjamin André, Remy Cabella, Angel Gomes; Jonathan Bamba, Jonathan David; Mohamed Bayo.

Injured: Edo Žegrova, Timothy Weah

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Tiago Djalo

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain continued their remarkable start to the new season last time out as they beat 5-2 to maintain a 100% start to the season.

Despite the drama that marred the game when Neymar and teammate Kylian Mbappe appeared to face off, the defending champions kept their winning run going for another game.

Christophe Galtier, since his arrival, has made a good impression, winning all the games he has overseen with his side scoring 14 times in the last three competitive games.

His side are the only side that have won two of their opening games and so PSG sits comfortably at the top of the table, two points ahead of second-placed Lille.

And so, Galtier will travel to his former stomping ground looking to maintain his winning start and stretch his side’s lead at the top of the table.

Possible PSG starting line-up

Gianluigi Donnarumma; Sergio Ramos, Presnl Kimpembe, Marquinhos; Achraf Hakimi, Vitinha, Marco Verratti, Nuno Mendes; Lionel Messi; Kylian Mbappe, Neymar.

Injured: Colin Dagba, Julian Draxler
