Martin Odegaard, who is currently on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid, has quickly become a fan favourite after some impressive displays for Mikel Arteta’s side.

With many wanting the Gunners to tie the Norwegian playmaker to a new deal permanently at Emirates, a section of fans on Twitter fear that he could be tempted to join rivals Liverpool.

The Reds are indeed keeping tabs on the Norwegian Star as Jurgen Klopp looks to bring more creativity to the middle of the park.

Madrid are happy to part ways with Odegaard as they want to generate the funds for marquee signings like Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland. Los Blancos rate him around £50m, which would be a difficult fee for both Arsenal and Liverpool amid the current economic condition.

The Gunners faithful are also concerned with  Odegaard’s prospective absence for the next two games.

Suffering an ankle injury in the international break, Odegaard didn’t participate in the quarter finals first leg against Slavia Prague and could possibly miss the away tie as well, revealed by Arteta.

We don’t know.

“He wasn’t able to play today and he will be out, I think, for the next game or two. But we don’t know yet.”

The Norwegian playmaker would be a huge miss for the Gunners, who are far off from the top four race in the Premier League.

Even in the quarter-finals against Slavia Prague, Odegaadd would have made a huge difference if he had stayed fit.
