Carlo Ancelotti was unveiled as the new Real Madrid manager earlier this week, and his departure has left Everton in complete disarray.

It was a shocking exit from Everton’s perspective, and the Toffees are yet to appoint a quality long term successor to the Italian.

Ancelotti’s departure will be a massive dent in their ambitions next season, but it seems that his exit could lead to an exodus of the players as well.

According to reports, the likes of James Rodriguez and Richarlison are now considering their future at Goodison Park. The players were reportedly shocked to see Ancelotti leave the club.

Rodriguez signed for Everton at the start of the last season, and he admitted publicly that the only reason he moved to Goodison Park is because of Ancelotti’s presence at the helm.

The Colombian worked with Ancelotti at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as well, and it will be interesting to see if he decides to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Furthermore, Richarlison has been linked with a move away from Everton for months now, but Ancelotti urged the Brazilian to give him another season, and he promised that the Toffees would qualify for European football.

It will be interesting to see if the Brazilian decides to engineer a move away from Goodison Park now that Ancelotti has left the club and Everton’s chances of securing Champions League football seem highly unlikely next season.

The fans will be bitterly disappointed with the situation, and it will be interesting to see if club owner Farhad Moshiri can get through this by bringing in a quality managerial replacement and holding on to his key players.
