Man United News: Solskjaer heaps praise on Pogba, Scholes comments on Henderson and De Gea, Rice’s surprising comments after Milan win

Solskjaer hits out at Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho

Solskjaer heaps praise on match-winner Pogba

Paul Pogba scored the winning goal for Manchester United in the 1-0 win against AC Milan last night and helped the Red Devils progress to the last eight of the Europa League.

The French World Cup winner came off the bench at the break in place of injured Marcus Rashford, and it didn’t take long for him to make his presence felt.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the match-winning display of Pogba though the Norwegian feels he is far from being match-fit.

“Paul looked like he’d been out for six weeks, yeah, for sure.”

“He’s been working really hard, but when you play football it’s different and you can see that he needs… he couldn’t play more than 45, and he’ll get better and better.”

“That’s a big, big boost for us rest of the season because the boys have done fantastic without him, but we know Paul’s qualities.”

Scholes chooses between De Gea and Henderson.

Paul Scholes has insisted Solskjaer to stick with Dean Henderson as United’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Henderson has been serving as the man between the sticks for the last few games after David de Gea opted for paternity leave.

In fact, the English shot-stopper has been impressive in the absence of the Spaniard and managed four clean sheets, including the one against Milan last night.

Scholes feels it’s time for Henderson, who has been recently included in England’s World Cup Qualifiers squad, to take up the goalkeeping onus on the long run for the Red Devils.

“I think it’s Henderson now; I think he’s taken over, “

“I think the time has come to give him a run of games in the team and see how he does. He’s been picked in the England squad; I think he possibly should be the number one for England if he can maintain this form.

Rice comments after San Siro win

Man Utd’s midfield target and West Ham skipper Declan Rice has congratulated Harry Maguire on social media, which has left the fans frenzied

Rice continues to gain interest from Premier League’s top club after he has grown into one of the top talents in the English top-flight. However, Hammers boss David Moyes believes that the English defensive midfielder would cost more than £100m.
