  • Defending champions Liverpool are fighting for Champions League berth this season as they are pushed to sixth position in the Premier League table.
  • Their position could slide further if Everton and Aston Villa who played two less matches, could do well in their upcoming matches.

Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool are going through a crisis right now and they have now dropped out of the top four after Chelsea and West Ham won their League games earlier tonight.

The Reds are now sixth in the Premier League table and it will be interesting to see if they can get back into the top four before the end of the season.

Premier League table as on 16th February 2021

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in abysmal form right now and they have lost their last three games in all competitions. They will be up against RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday and a win over the German side could give them some much-needed confidence.

Liverpool are only two points adrift of the 4th place and therefore Champions League qualification is still very much on the cards for them. It will be interesting to see if the key players like Diogo Jota and Naby Keita can return to action soon and help the side climb up the table with a few positive performances.

There is no doubt that Liverpool have the quality to finish in the top three regardless of their performances so far.

The Champions have been unlucky with injuries so far and they will need a slice of luck to get their season back on track in the coming weeks.

The Reds are unlikely to win anything on the domestic front this year but the Champions League is unpredictable and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can do well in the knockout rounds of the tournament now.
