Jose Mourinho could be on his way out of Tottenham this summer

Jose Mourinho-Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have had a mediocre season in the Premier League so far and they failed to make their mark in the European competitions either.

The Carabao Cup final is their only chance of ending the season on a high and it will be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho’s men can beat Manchester City in the final later this month.

According to reports, there is a growing belief within the club that Jose Mourinho will not be at Spurs next season.

Missing out on Champions League qualification for a second consecutive season would be a hammer blow to Spurs’ revenues. The club are already reeling from the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic and Mourinho was expected to guide them to Champions League football this season.

Instead, it looks like the Londoners will miss out on Champions League money once again and it could cost them, key players, as well.

The likes of Harry Kane have been linked with a move away from Spurs. It seems that the England international is considering his future at the club and he could decide to move on if the Londoners fail to fit finish in the top four.

Mourinho’s men are currently five points off fourth-placed West Ham. They have lost seven of their last 14 Premier League games and it will be interesting to see if they can turn their form around and finish the season strongly.

Daniel Levy backed Jose Mourinho significantly during the summer transfer window with new signings but the Portuguese has failed to deliver.

It wouldn’t be surprising if he’s sacked at the end of the season.

Apart from the results, it is believed that Mourinho’s decisions regarding certain players have caused tension behind the scenes.

The manager’s treatment of Dele Alli and Harry Winks has been heavily criticized this season. Both players have been frozen out of the first team. Players like Steven Bergwijn and Carlos Vinicius are struggling for regular game time along with Davinson Sanchez.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese manager has failed to get the best out of Gareth Bale either.
