Liverpool transfer round-up: Wijnaldum, Alcantara, Carlos, Brewster

Liverpool transfer update: Diego Carlos, Rhian Brewster decision, Georginio Wijnaldum to Barcelona, Thiago Alcantara transfer

Arsenal join Liverpool in the race for Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool transfer update: La Liga centre-back interest, Brewster decision, Wijnaldum to Barcelona, Bayern midfielder prefers Liverpool switch.

Liverpool are looking to add little reinforcements ahead of the next season, having only signed Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

Their summer target Thiago Alcantara is said to be keen on a move to Liverpool than other clubs. Manchester United have approached the Spaniard of late, but he has set his sights on joining the Merseyside club. Bayern Munich have stated that they are yet to receive an official bid for their wantaway star.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly against the idea of letting Rhian Brewster leave on loan. The German manager wants the youngster to stay at Anfield despite no guaranteed playing time. Brewster spent his second half of the last season in Championship, playing for Swansea City. He recently bottled up his chance in the penalty shootout of the Community Shield game against Arsenal.

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, who was impressive last season. The Reds would face competition from fellow Premier League outfits Manchester City and Manchester United, with former in particular.

Barcelona are said to be preparing a bid for Georginio Wijnaldum, who risks losing his position to summer target Thiago. Barca are keen on signing Gini at the advice of new manager Ronald Koeman. Meanwhile, the Reds are poised for an offer from the Catalans in the coming days. Wijnaldum’s contract at Anfield expires next year.
