Newcastle are looking to sign the Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri this summer.
According to Daily Mail, the Magpies have identified the Swiss winger as a target and they could move for him once their takeover is complete.
The report adds that Liverpool will not stand in the way and will allow Shaqiri to move on if the offer is right.
The former Stoke City star has not played too often this season and he will need a move in order to kick-start his career.
A move to Newcastle would be ideal for him. The Magpies will have an ambitious project under their new owners and they are a well-supported club.
Shaqiri is a very good player as well and he would certainly improve Newcastle.
Saint-Maximin and Shaqiri could cover the wide areas for Newcastle next season if the transfer goes through.
Liverpool paid around £13m for the player when they signed him and they will be looking to make a profit if he moves on.
Shaqiri has already won the Champions League with the Reds and he is expected to win the Premier League this season as well.
The Swiss winger has achieved more than he would have expected at Anfield and it seems that the time is right for a new adventure.
Jurgen Klopp is unlikely to start him ahead of Salah or Mane next season and he is too good to sit on the bench every week.
