Borussia Dortmund crashed to a 3-2 defeat against Bayern Munich in the German Super cup earlier today at Allianz Arena.

Corentin Tolisso scored the opening goal of the game for the German champions on the 18th minute and Thomas Muller doubled their lead on the 32nd minute.

Dortmund did well to come back into the game soon after and Julian Brandt scored for the away side on the 39th minute.

Dortmund kept on piling the pressure and they were eventually rewarded with the equalizer when Erling Haaland scored on the 55th minute.

With the scores level it seemed like the match would end in a stalemate but the German champions found that extra bit of quality to make all the difference in the end.

Joshua Kimmich scored the winning goal of the game on the 82nd minute and Bayern Munich will be delighted to continue their winning start to the season.

The Bundesliga giants recently won the European super cup as well.

They were quite poor against Hoffenheim in the League and today’s win over Dortmund will have given them some relief and confidence boost.

Bayern Munich will now look to build on this and put together a winning run in the League.

As for Dortmund, they were without Jadon Sancho for the game and the fans will wonder what could have been if the English winger had been fit for the game.
