Goals from Kouadio Kone and a brace from Ramy Bensebaini and Breel Embolo sealed an emphatic win for the home side.

Julian Nagelsmann fielded a full-strength lineup comprising of Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Leon Goretzka but the visitors struggled from the get-go and they conceded just two minutes into the game.

The visitors never really recovered from their poor start to the game and the home side capitalized on their impressive start with two quick goals after the opener.

Gladbach managed to contain the Bayern Munich attack in the first half.

It was a similar story in the second half as Breel Embolo struck twice within the first 12 minutes to put Borussia Monchengladbach 5-0 ahead.

Bayern Munich will be thoroughly disappointed with their performance last night and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back strongly in their next outing.

The Bavarian giants came into this game on the back of three consecutive wins in which they had scored 13 goals in total. Few would have expected them to crash to a 5-0 humiliation against Gladbach.

That said, the home side were exceptional on the night and they thoroughly deserved the victory. It will be interesting to see if they can go all the way in the competition this year.

The result will come as a major wake-up call for Bayern and they will have to be more consistent if they want to win silverware this season.
