The 19-year-old Rennes winger put on a scintillating display for Belgium in the 2-1 defeat against Italy.
Bayern Munich are said to be keeping tabs on talented Rennes winger Jeremy Doku.
According to a report, the Bundesliga champions have scouted the 19-year-old during Belgium’s game against Italy in Euro 2020 at Allianz Arena.
As it turned out, Doku grabbed the headlines for his stunning display, although he couldn’t prevent Belgians from losing to Azzurri in the quarter-finals.
Progressing through the youth ranks of Belgian club Anderlecht, he quickly made his way into the first team. After impressing for two seasons in the Belgian Pro League, Doku moved to Rennes last summer, although there were interests from the clubs across Europe.
In his debut season in Ligue 1, the Belgian winger became a regular for Rennes while mustering 2 goals and 3 assists. It also led to his call-up to the Belgian national team, with manager Roberto Martinez adding him to the stand by the occasion.
Doku grabbed his opportunity with both hands in the absence of injured Eden Hazard in the quarter-finals, putting on a stellar performance.
His ability to take on the defenders with pace and dribbling makes him an exciting prospect in the coming years.
Although Bayern have been monitoring the Belgian teenager, they are unlikely to sign him this summer. Earlier he was also linked with Liverpool.
The Bavarians are currently stacked with quality wide players like Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane, and having said that, bringing an up-and-coming talent like Doku would make them even strong. It is only a matter of time before the Belgian starlet gets signed by a top European club.
