Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a move away from Barcelona this summer.
According to reports, Atletico Madrid are currently the frontrunners in the transfer chase. Still, the agent of the forward has met with a few Premier League clubs to discuss a potential transfer.
The two Spanish clubs are in talks regarding a swap deal involving Griezmann and Saul this summer.
The report further states that both sides are keen on the agreement, but Barcelona would prefer that the Frenchman moves away from the Spanish league. They are looking to avoid another Luis Suarez situation, where the player left them and won the title with their rivals.
The 30-year-old World Cup winner’s agent has spoken to two Premier League clubs this month, and the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been made aware that the player will be available for a knockdown price.
Barcelona paid around £107 million for him two years ago, but they are under pressure to reduce their wage bill, and they will have to cash in on the French international this summer.
Griezmann rose to prominence during his time at Atletico Madrid, and Diego Simeone is apparently a massive fan of the player. The Frenchman spent five years at the club before moving to Barcelona, and the Atletico Madrid manager is keen on a reunion this summer.
The 30-year-old is a top-class player who would be a quality addition for most teams across Europe. It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
