Dest turns down Bayern and Arsenal

Barcelona defender Sergino Dest has turned down the opportunity to join the likes of Bayern MunichBorussia Dortmund and Arsenal.

According to reports, all three clubs were keen on a move for the United States international, but they were knocked back by the player and the Spanish giants.

His suitors were looking to take advantage of Barcelona’s precarious financial situation.

Dest signed for Barcelona last September for a fee of around €20 million, and he has been quite impressive for them so far.

There is no doubt that the youngster has the potential to develop into a top-class player, and losing him now would have been a blow for the Spanish outfit.

Barcelona are under pressure to reduce their wage bill, and several of their first-team players have been linked with moves away from the club.

It will be interesting to see the Spanish giants can get rid of their fringe players and sort out their financial crisis soon.

Koeman blocked Romero and Sanches moves

Meanwhile, reports claim that Ronald Koeman turned down the opportunity to sign the likes of Cristian Romero from Atalanta and Renato Sanches from Lille.

The Barcelona manager did not want to sign the Argentine defender because of the arrival of Eric Garcia, and he was unconvinced of the quality of Sanches.

Both young players are rated quite highly across Europe, and they have tremendous potential.

Barcelona might live to regret their decision if the two players continue to develop and fulfil their potential in the coming years.
