Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club this summer and it appears the Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on signing him.

The 32-year-old has not been at his best since signing a new contract with the London club last season and moving him on wouldn’t be such a bad decision for the Gunners.

However, they have got very little time to bring in a quality replacement and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to take the risk in the closing stages of the window.

According to Sky Sports, Barcelona are prepared to offer Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho in a part-exchange deal for the Arsenal striker.

The Brazilian midfielder has been a massive flop since his big-money move from Liverpool and the La Liga giants have been trying to offload him for months now.

Coutinho played his best football during his time in the Premier League and a return to England could help him recapture his form.

There is no doubt that the midfielder is a top-class player on his day and he could sort out Arsenal’s creative problems if he manages to regain his confidence and sharpness.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will need to add more goals to their side after the departure of Lionel Messi and Aubameyang seems like a smart addition for them on a short term deal.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few days and whether the two clubs can work out a transfer that benefits them both.
