Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli has been linked with a move away from the club for months now and Juventus are thought to be closing in on his services.

The 23 year old Italian international is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Serie A right now and Juventus could certainly use a quality defensive midfielder like him this season.

According to reports, the Italian giants are ready to submit their final offer to Sassuolo for the midfielder this week.

Apparently, the transfer is likely to be sorted for a fee of around €35 million but the structure of payments has not been decided yet.

Premier League side Arsenal were keen on signing the 23-year-old defensive midfielder as well but the player is only keen on a move to Juventus.

A move to England is definitely off the cards for now.

The Italian outfit will have to revamp their midfield options this summer and the signing of Locatelli should prove to be a quality long term acquisition.

The midfielder was exceptional for his country in the European Championships earlier on in the summer and he has the potential to develop into one of the best midfielders in Europe.

The reported price tag of €35 million seems quite reasonable for a player of his talent in today’s market and Locatelli certainly has the potential to justify the outlay in the coming seasons.

A player of Locatelli’s calibre deserves to play in the Champions League and Juventus will be able to provide him with that platform. A move to Turin would be ideal for the player at this stage of his career.
