Wijnaldum agrees Barcelona move

Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Dutch international will be out of contract at the end of this season and he has agreed a pre-contract with the Spanish club.

The midfielder has worked with Ronald Koeman during their time together with the Dutch national team and the duo is set for a reunion at Camp Nou next season.

It will be interesting to see how Liverpool replace the versatile midfielder who has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the last few seasons.

Wijnaldum has played a key role in Liverpool winning the Champions League and the Premier League in the last couple of years and he should prove to be a quality addition to the Barcelona midfield on a free transfer.

Alaba set for Real Madrid switch

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are thought to be closing in on the signing of David Alaba on a free transfer.

The Bayern Munich defender is set to leave the German champions in the summer when his contract expires and Real Madrid have offered him wages of around £165,000 per week and a huge £17 million signing bonus.

Alaba has been linked with several Premier League clubs as well but it seems that the Austrian is keen on signing for Los Blancos.

The 28-year-old is a world-class player who can play multiple positions and he should be a useful member of Zinedine Zidane’s squad next season.

Real Madrid needed to add more depth to their midfield and defence and the signing of Alaba on a free transfer should prove to be a masterstroke for them.

The Austrian has won every trophy at the club level and his quality and experience will be invaluable for the Real Madrid dressing room.
