Luis Suarez to snub Juventus interest in favour of Atletico Madrid

There appears to be another twist in the Luis Suarez transfer saga. The Uruguayan could snub Juventus interest in favour of Atletico Madrid.

Juventus interested in signing Luis Suarez

Rojiblancos have shown interest in the Uruguayan of late.

There appears to be another twist in the transfer saga of Barcelona star Luis Suarez.

According to reports, Atletico Madrid have shown interest in signing the Uruguayan, who is understood to be moving to Juventus.

However, Suarez is seemingly having second thoughts on his move to Turin after holding talks with Atletico.

The 33-year-old is understood to be not in the plans of Ronald Koeman and Barca also appears to be forcing Suarez’s departure.

Juventus are said to be having an agreement in principle with Suarez, a move that could earn him a slightly similar salary he has been getting at Barca.

However, Diego Simeone’s men are trying to throw spanners in the works of the Old Lady to sign Suarez.

Juve and Atletico are in search of a new striker, with both of them ending up identifying the former Liverpool striker as the ideal target.

Suarez by no means hasn’t put aside the possibilities of surviving in Barcelona as his contract runs out until next year.

But his playing time would be frozen out under Koeman, who has made clear that Suarez won’t be part of his project. To make it clear, Koeman also dropped Suarez out of the squad for the friendlies against Gimnastic.

Barca had a good outing against the third-tier Spanish club last night, winning the game 3-1. Lionel Messi performed as the team’s nominal striker while Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho found the scoresheet.
