Sergio Ramos-Real Madrid

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos will be a free agent at the end of this season and his future at the club is yet to be resolved.

At the end of last season Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claimed that Sergio Ramos will finish his career at the club and he can stay for as long as he wants.

However, he has not signed a contract extension just yet and it will be interesting to see if he decides to move on after 16 years of serving the Spanish Giants.

According to reports, Real Madrid want to agree a one year contract extension with the Spanish defender but Ramos is asking for two more seasons and a salary hike.

It will be interesting to see if Real Madrid agree to the 34-year-old’s demands.

There is no doubt that Ramos is one of the most influential players in Real Madrid’s history and he has helped the club win several Champions League trophies and La Liga titles.

Even though he will be past his peak soon, he could still be a very useful player for the Real Madrid dressing room and the Spanish outfit should look to keep him at the club beyond next summer.

Statistics show just how important Sergio Ramos has been for Real Madrid. Apparently, Real Madrid have lost seven of their last eight European competition matches without their captain.

It remains to be seen if the two parties can sort out their disagreements and Iron out the final details of a contract extension in the coming months now.
