Ousmane Dembele set to join Paris Saint-Germain

Lionel Messi-Dembele-Barcelona

Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club this month, and it seems that the player has reached a verbal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Frenchman is nearing the end of his contract at Camp Nou, and he has been informed that he will have to find a new club for himself this month.

The winger was demanding wages of around £300,000 a week to stay in Barcelona. Still, the Spanish club are going through financial difficulties right now, and they have not been able to accommodate the player’s wage demands.

According to a report from the Sun, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United were all keen on signing the player this month.

The French international winger will now return to his country with PSG, and it remains to be seen whether he can hold down a regular starting berth with the French giants this season.

PSG already have the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at their disposal, and Dembele might struggle to play regular first-team football.

The 24-year-old can be an exceptional player on his day, but persistent injury problems have hampered his development since the transfer to Barcelona.

A move to PSG could be a fresh start for the player, and it remains to be seen whether he can recapture his form and confidence.

A move to the Premier League could have been a better option for the player, and he would have played more often for a club like Manchester United or Chelsea.

It remains to be seen how his situation develops over the next few months once the transfer is formalised.
