Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, and Aston Villa are prepared to provide him with an escape route.

The 23-year-old striker has fallen down the pecking order at the London club, and he needs to leave in order to play regular first-team football.

Despite being the top scorer at the club for the past two seasons, he has struggled to establish himself as a key player for Chelsea.

There is no doubt that Abraham is a quality young talent, but he needs to make a decision regarding his future soon.

Aston Villa are interested in signing the player this summer, and they are prepared to submit a £40 million bid to test Chelsea’s resolve.

It is highly unlikely that Abraham will be starting every week for Chelsea next season, and therefore the Blues should look to cash in on him.

Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku in recent months.

The proceeds from Abraham’s sale would allow them to bring in their own signings, and the Chelsea youngster will be able to kickstart his career at another club.

The transfer would make a lot of sense for all parties involved, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa could use some depth in the attacking department, and Abraham would be the ideal partner for Ollie Watkins.

Villa have been overly reliant on the former Brentford striker for goals this past season, and bringing in another quality goal scorer would undoubtedly improve the side a lot.

Abraham has played for Aston Villa in the past. He was on loan at the West Midlands club during their time in the championship, and he should be able to settle in quickly if he returns to Villa Park this summer.

The reported £40 million offer seems like a significant fee for a player that is unwanted, and Chelsea should accept it and let the player move on.
